Character Guidelines

Updated 10/31/00

I'm expecting that the adventures will take the main characters to different places in the US and potentially the world.   The base for the characters will be in Detroit.

Characters should be very thematic, either with a single effect that can be used flexibly or a lot of powers centered around a clear theme. Players CAN be supernatural or inventors, though. If they're going to be in that realm, they should still have a strong theme (such as a Vampire, Necromancer, Bow-and-arrow gadgeteer, Weather weapons only. Forks, etc.).

Nobody needs to take a code against killing or anything like that. However, note that being a casual killer won't work at all, either.

Points will be 155+60, fairly powerful.  On the highest end are supers with hundreds of points, probably around two hundred of those in the world at any one time, some 100 in the United States.  On the "medium" end are characters in that 150-250 range, approximately 400 of them in the USA, a disproportionate percentage of the world's estimated 4,000.   There are thousands, perhaps even tens of thousands who have some metahuman capability in the United States but most of these are minor indeed.  It won't be uncommon in any case to encounter other supers.  Many of them will not be in costume, though!

I'm okay with characters' backgrounds/characteristics being somewhat sketchy at first and developed as we continue.
