Hunter Syndrome
Hunter Syndrome is the inverse of Hunted. A character may have a tendency to go hunting some other character or characters (e.g., child molesters or drug dealers). While hunting, the character's sole preoccupation (other than fulfilling his other necessary duties, such as work and sleep, etc.) will be hunting down the source of his anger. If the source of his anger is very broad and impossible to bring in (for example, a truly major super or a large organization like the mafia), he will pursue it for an extended period of time (to the GM's satisfaction) and sometimes drop his hunt for other matters, according to his chance to go hunting; still, the character will try to trace whatever his current activity is to what his Hunter Syndrome is. A character must define the circumstance which will trigger his Hunter Syndrome, the commonalty of these circumstances (with the GM), the chance to go hunting when the circumstance occurs (8 or less, 11 or less, or 14 or less on 3d6), and his aim in getting the object of the hunt ("reasonable", such as bringing the object to legal justice, or "irrational", such as murder or torture). The chart below indicates the points gained according to these options.
HUNTER SYNDROME CIRCUMSTANCE CHART, LIKELIHOOD CHART, GOAL CHART =>
| Circumstance to go Hunting is... | Bonus |
| Uncommon | 0 |
| Common | 5 |
| Very common | 10 |
| Chance to go Hunting... | Bonus |
| 8 or less | 5 |
| 11 or less | 10 |
| 14 or less | 15 |
| Aim of hunting is... | Bonus |
| Reasonable | 0 |
| Irrational or extreme | 5 |
For example, a character will quit whatever he is currently pursuing whenever he reads or hears news about the Hulk, so that he may go find and capture the Hulk. The Hulk is in the news once in a while (common), the character's aim is reasonable (he just wants to capture the Hulk for scientific study), but the character will almost definitely become obsessed when he does hear the news (14 or less). Thus, the character would get a bonus of 20 points (14 or less=15, reasonable aim=0, common circumstance=5).
